How long an IP address is listed?
Currently, IP addresses are listed until they are removed via the removal page. This is possible:
- 1. instantly after a payment of EUR 10.00 (+ server load fee)
- 2. free of charge 30 days after the last evidence (spam, blocking...)
- 3. if an IP address is a false entry (after we received a false entry report)
Our activities are absolutely legal. We have not asked you to send spam to us. If you not want to pay for the removal, simply wait until the IP address is removable for free.
Reporting an IP address as a false entry
The removal page gives you an option to report us an IP address as a false entry, but only if the IP address was not listed in three other reliable DNS blacklists at the time of listing in the inps.de-DNSBL.
We're checking every false entry report as soon as possible. Real false entries are removed free of charge as soon as the report was checked by our team.
An IP address is a false entry, if our spamfilter marks an Email, which is not an unsolicited bulk Email, as spam and the sending IP address gets listed.
You can check, which Email has caused the listing. If spam was detected correctly (which it is in most cases), the chance that we accept your false entry report will be very low.
Why removals are not always free?
The main reason is, that spammers can't easily remove IP addresses, that they abuse.
Secondly, Spam is a very time-consuming and costly problem. We must sort all Emails (spam/ non-spam), modify our spamfilters and check the listings and removals at our list, to ensure that the inps.de-DNSBL remains reliable and secures our systems.
As of 2010-08-25 the removal fee increases by EUR 0,50 per event (listing, reception of a spam mail, rejection by our mailserver). For example, if we received 5 spam mails from an IP address, EUR 12,50 must be paid for an instant removal (the first event was the listing itself, the other four are the spam mails that had to be processed by our system).
Of course, we appreciate your payment, but we do not force you to pay us money for the removal of an IP address from our blacklist. An instant removal is absolutely free 30 days after the last occurence of an IP address, but only if it is not listed in more than two other selected blacklists with short removal times (approx. 7 days). If the the removal is urgent and you want to remove an IP address earlier from the inps.de-DNSBL, you have to pay us money for our efforts caused by your mistake. As mentioned above, we're checking every removal manually.
